I have two desired end results: 1) transferring the tape to DVD so I can preserve it / watch it in the future, andĢ) editing parts of it (and several other tapes) to make a single DVD to share with the Marines I served with in Bosnia back in the '90s. To that end, I bought a Diamond VC500, watched some videos and suggestions, and tried what looked best - but my results are less than optimal. I've played around with Windows Movie Maker over the years - and finally have the confidence to try to preserve / edit some of my old Hi8 tapes.
